Departing Folkestone Invicta skipper Callum Davies offered send-off as club’s shareholder and shirt sponsor Alcaline UK Limited offer defender helicopter tour around London

Departing Folkestone captain Callum Davies has been given a unique send-off.

Davies, 31, has left the club due to family commitments and has signed for ambitious Southern Counties East Premier Division side Faversham this summer.

And Alcaline UK Limited - the haulage and distribution company and Invicta’s significant shareholder and shirt sponsor - marked the occasion by giving him a helicopter tour of London before returning to Cheriton Road.

The AS355 Eurocopter F2 five-seater helicopter is one of Alcaline’s fleet of three which provide provider charters, as well as urgent air freight if required. They offer sightseeing tours of Kent, London and the South of England.

Whether for business or pleasure, it’s possible to fly from Folkestone to London in only 25 minutes.

When the stalwart ex-Gillingham defender’s flight landed, he was met by Alcaline chief executive Lorenzo Zaccheo, David Zaccheo and Neil Shaw, as well as his haul of trophies from his last season at Invicta. These included the players’ player, supporters’ player and manager’s player-of-the-season trophies, which he was presented with at the end-of-season awards.

Davies said: “I leave the club with a heavy heart but great memories, on and off the field.

He was joined on the flight by Alcaline’s general manager, David Zaccheo, who wanted to mark Davies’ commitment to the club over the last eight years.
