‘Delta Queens can still get super six ticket despite poor start’

For players and officials of Delta Queens FC, their quest for a Super Six Ticket this season is still possible despite a poor start to the season. Last Wednesday, Delta Queens, against all expectations, pulled a big surprise by crushing FC Robo Queens 4-1 in the NWFL Premiership Match Day 6.

The match played at the Stephen Keshi Township Stadium saw Delta Queens scoring through Princess Adams, Goodness Ihuoma, Priscilla Omeje and Destiny Itobor, while Favour Nwakocha pulled one back for FC Robo .

The victory took Delta Queens to fifth position on the league table, and the Chairman of Delta Sports Commission, Onoriode Oborevwore believes the team is not out of the Super Six ticket race yet.

“From what I saw in their match against FC Robo, I believe Delta Queens can still pull a surprise by getting the Super Six ticket. It appears a difficult task after the poor start to the season, but anything can still happen,” Oborevwore told The Guardian in a telephone chat .

Delta Queens will host Ibom Angels in another home match on Wednesday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, and coach Peter Dedevbo and Team Manager, Joy Oyibo are optimistic of securing a good result.
