Delays on A470 after reports of crash near Aberfan
There was heavy traffic on the A470 southbound between Merthyr Tydfil and Abercynon this afternoon after reports of a multi-vehicle collision. The Welsh Ambulance service confirmed that they attended the incident but no patients were conveyed to hospital.
South Wales Fire and Rescue service also attended the incident and handed the scene over to South Wales Police.
Driving conditions across Wales are poor after heavy rainfall throughout Sunday morning, with standing water on many roads. Earlier this afternoon, traffic was held on the M4 after a road traffic accident.
Wales is being hit by Storm Herminia, named by the Spanish Met Office. There are yellow weather warnings for wind and rain in force for many parts of the country.
