"Definitely still on the table" - Transfer insider says double Leeds swoop is a possibility

Leeds United signing both Lewis O’Brien and Takumi Minamino is definitely on the table, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Yorkshire club are thought to be interested in the Huddersfield Town and Liverpool stars, with Jones telling GIVEMESPORT that deals for the two are being pursued.

At the end of last month, The Sun reported that Leeds are set to swoop for O’Brien this summer.

The Whites’ interest in the 23-year-old midfielder is not new, though. Last August, the club’s director of football Victor Orta confirmed they tried to sign him for the 2021/22 season, only for a difference in valuation to get in the way of that.

Elsewhere, a BBC Sport report has stated that Leeds, as well as Premier League rivals Wolves, Fulham and Southampton, are admirers of Minamino, who could cost £17m.

Jones has told GMS that O’Brien and Minamino are still both options for Leeds this transfer window, though signing the latter could be difficult because of Sadio Mane’s situation at Liverpool.

The transfer insider said: “Definitely still on the table, both of those players. “But Lewis O’Brien and Minamino are definitely still players being pursued.”

Phillips and Forshaw also struggled to stay fit during the 2021/22 season; therefore, it would make sense to bring in someone like O’Brien
