"Definitely' - Journalist tips Leeds high-earner to "benefit" from Jesse Marsch formation switch

Leeds United forward Rodrigo will benefit if Jesse Marsch changes the team’s system, claims journalist Dean Jones.

The 30-year-old has had some struggles since joining the Whites for £26m but is in for a fresh start following Marcelo Bielsa’s sacking.

After the 4-0 loss to Tottenham, which followed a humiliating 6-0 defeat against Liverpool, Bielsa was dismissed from his post as Leeds manager, completing a largely successful three-and-a-half year spell at Elland Road.

With the Argentine gone, Leeds quickly turned to Marsch, who was out of a job having left RB Leipzig back in December.

As well as managing Leipzig, the American has also been at the helm at Red Bull Salzburg so does have experience coaching in Europe.

You would suspect, though, that the Premier League will provide his hardest test yet, especially with Leeds close to the relegation zone.

Jones believes Marsch’s arrival could benefit a player like Rodrigo, who had some difficult times under Bielsa and in his 4-1-4-1/4-2-3-1 set-up.

When asked by GIVEMESPORT if Marsch potentially changing Leeds’ system could help one of the team’s highest earners out, the insider said: “Yeah, Rodrigo will definitely benefit from a system that is more fitting to him.

“I thought it was a really good signing when he came in, and he just hasn’t really had the opportunities to show what he’s capable of.”

Perhaps one that utilises two strikers, with 4-4-2 actually being Marsch’s preferred formation, according to Transfermarkt.
