Declan Rice told to pick Man City transfer over Man Utd move by Manchester United treble winner

Declan Rice should push for a move to Manchester City in the eyes of former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke.

The Hammers' captain could well leave the club this summer with Arsenal favourites to sign him. United are long-term admirers and German giants Bayern Munich have been linked. Reports have claimed that West Ham want an enormous £120million for their key midfielder, who is entering the final year of his deal this summer.

David Moyes' side are in a decent position though, given that they have the option of triggering another year in Rice's contract once it expires in 2024. The England international has been a stand-out player for his club over the last five years and Yorke believes he is now on City's level.

"Declan Rice will have to sit down and decide what is the best choice for him in the summer," Yorke told Lord Ping. "I don't think money will be an issue, but you're leaving West Ham to go win trophies and to play in the Champions League. Does Rice want to leave London? He could stay and play for Arsenal, who have a project full of young guys there who are trending in the right direction.

"Chelsea are going through a transition - would he want to go into an uncertain period at the club?
