Kane was at the centre of attention in the 2021 summer transfer window, when Manchester City tried to sign him. Ultimately, he remained with his current club – but the idea of him moving on later down the line has never faded.

This year, Manchester United may be more likely to move for the England captain. They are looking for a new number nine to succeed Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Naturally, Kane is someone they significantly admire. Recent reports have suggested he features high up their list of possible transfer targets for the summer.

However, the Daily Mirror have revealed this afternoon that Kane is “set to snub” Man Utd in favour of staying with Tottenham Hotspur.

He will put any thoughts about his future on hold until after the summer. That means he looks likely to start the 2022-23 season as a Tottenham player still.

Kane has his sights set on cementing his legendary status at Tottenham by chasing down their goalscoring record. He needs 23 more goals to match Jimmy Greaves in top spot; for a player of his calibre, he should be able to manage that within a season.

What happens after remains to be seen; his contract with Spurs only runs until 2024. But for now, it looks like Kane could commit to Tottenham.
