Deathloop: Voice actor hints at new project
Deathloop actor Jason Kelley has hinted that he is working on a new project, but it isn’t exactly clear if it would be related to the first game.
The actor posted an image on Twitter on Tuesday, showing him in a voice acting booth.
He captioned it: “Oooooooooo! Cannot wait to share what this one is. #backinthelab #voiceacting #games #vo #deathloop #coltjustcolt #baftagames.”
Kelley, of course, voiced Colt in Deathloop, which was a huge critical hit for Arkane Studios.
Released on PS5, it received a Metacritic score of 88 upon its release in September of 2021, and Kelley was asked if he was recording dialogue for downloadable content.
He responded: “Nooope. New title. That’s all I can say… nda.”
It does shut down any hope, right now, of Deathloop downloadable content, but there could well be a spin-off title in the works.
The hashtag of “Colt just Colt” seems to hint at the character being involved in whatever Kelley is currently working on.
There could be a spin-off coming, or potentially even a sequel down the road, but it seems as though this one will be revealed soon, given that voice work is already being done.
Of course, it could also be a completely new IP, with the developers keeping their cards close to their chest.
Dishonored 2, Prey, and Dishonored all received significant content after launch, with Prey: Mooncrash being one of the more critically acclaimed DLCs in recent years.
Deathloop remains a PS5 exclusive at this point, but Video Games Chronicle reports that it could be making its way to Xbox eventually.
They report Microsoft has done a deal with Id Software and, as a result, Deathloop could be coming to Xbox Game Pass down the line.
That would open up a whole new player base for the game, and it remains
