Dean Sutherland targets Friday night knockout as Aberdeen boxer warns he'll 'blast out' Fightzone foe

Super confident boxer Dean Sutherland is aiming for another emphatic knockout victory on Friday to edge him closer to a shot at the British and Commonwealth welterweight titles.

The hard-hitting Aberdeen southpaw extended his record to 12-0 and claimed the WBC International title with an impressive 8th round stoppage against durable Italian Michele Esposito at the Ballroom last November, topping the bill live on Fightzone.

He said: “It was a fantastic night last in front of a packed-out crowd. It was a tough fight for me both physically and mentally as I was hitting the guy with so many big shots and he kept coming back.

“It was great for me to be able to show my skills by continuing to chip away, and eventually I broke him down and forced the stoppage.”

Sutherland will once again headline the show on Friday live on Fightzone against an opponent who is yet to be confirmed – but he's hoping to get the job done much quicker on this occasion.

He added: “This time I am hoping to produce an emphatic knockout in two or three rounds. I’ve been training so hard with some really good sparring partners since New Year for this fight, so I am not looking to go out there and box my way to a points victory.
