Norwich City manager Dean Smith has sent a warning to his team ahead of the Premier League clash against Leicester City.
The Canaries travel to the King Power Stadium on Wednesday night as both teams look to bounce back from disappointing losses at the weekend. Norwich were beaten 4-0 by West Ham at Carrow Road while City fell to a 2-1 home loss against Everton.
The loss against the Toffees means that City are winless in their last seven games in all competitions - the longest winless run under Brendan Rodgers. It also leaves them in 14th place in the Premier League table.
But a win against already-relegated Norwich could see City climb back up to as high as 10th position. Ahead of the game, Smith has assessed the challenge that City will pose to his team, picking out two players in particular.
“Leicester have got very good players who can hurt you,” he said in his pre-match press conference. “Maddison, Vardy… it’s a club that’s been to a European semi-final, so we know the dangers and have got to give our full effort.”
The game will see James Maddison face his former club should he be deemed fit enough to feature. The midfielder was left out of the squad for the weekend’s clash vs Everton after a slight injury following the game vs Roma, Rodgers has however confirmed that the player should be ‘OK’ for the clash vs his former side.
Jamie Vardy was named on the bench vs Everton after starting the clash with Roma. He could be drafted back into the starting line-up for the visit of Norwich.
