Dean Henderson transfer chances significantly reduced as Prem club drops interest in Man Utd keeper

Dean Henderson could struggle to secure a move away from Manchester United this summer amid claims Newcastle have dropped out of the race to land him.

The Magpies have been linked with Henderson for several months. Reports claim Eddie Howe wants a new goalkeeper at St James’ Park to replace Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow.

Newcastle would have the funds to strike a deal with Manchester United for Henderson due to their huge financial power.

According to a recent report, Newcastle had an agreement in place with Henderson over personal terms.

They were just trying to sort out the finances of a deal with Man Utd before it could go through.

But The Telegraph provide a big update, and it could see Henderson left in limbo. That’s because Newcastle have dropped out of the mix to sign him.

Magpies officials ‘admire’ the shot-stopper after his excellent loan spell at Sheffield United and occasional appearance with Man Utd.

But they have yet to actually make an approach to sign him, and one won’t be coming in the summer transfer window.

Newcastle sources have been adamant Henderson is not on the club’s radar, despite the regular transfer links.

Newcastle have held discussions about improving Howe’s options in goal. But this is not a priority as other positions need strengthening first.

Due to this, the earliest Newcastle will make a move for a new keeper is January, or perhaps next summer.

The Tyneside outfit had been Henderson’s most likely destination if he opted to leave Man Utd. But such a move is now off the cards, putting his future in doubt.

The 25-year-old is desperate to get regular game time so he can make the England World Cup squad. Leaving Man Utd is his best bet given the form of David de Gea.
