Deadline day signing meets his teammates and more things spotted in Manchester United training

There must have been a strange feeling in Manchester United training this week, with new faces arriving and the possibility of others taking part in their final sessions.

Erik ten Hag has been busy in the final week of the window and has welcomed in a clutch of new players including goalkeeper Altay Bayindir and left-back Sergio Reguilon. Meanwhile, a loan deal for Sofyan Amrabat has been agreed with a flight from Florence booked.

Donny van de Beek could be sold while Alvaro Fernandez is expected to leave the Reds on loan amid Reguilon’s arrival. It all makes for a busy transfer deadline day, albeit United still have Sunday’s clash with Arsenal to prepare for. Here is what was spotted in Friday’s training session.

Bayindir’s arrival was officially announced on Friday and he was soon captured in training alongside fellow goalkeepers Andre Onana and Radek Vitek. The Turkey international comes in as Onana’s deputy following Dean Henderson’s exit to Crystal Palace. The former Fenerbahce shot-stopper was put through his paces immediately by undergoing several drills on the Carrington turf. He may make the bench for the trip the Emirates in two days’ time.

Trialist Jacob Carney was given the chance to train with his seniors this morning as he gained valuable experience watching internationals Onana and Bayindir. The 22-year-old United academy graduate was released by Sunderland this summer. Goalkeeper Carney has been on the bench for the Under-21s’ last two matches and has impressed staff in training. He could be brought back permanently following the exit of Matej Kovar to Bayer Leverkusen.
