David Turnbull on Celtic expectation admission as he reveals the dressing room reaction Ange Postecoglou's criticism

David Turnbull reckons Ange Postecoglou's critique of the Celtic squad after the opening day of the season will insipire the side as they journey north to face Ross County.

Postecoglou 's side took all three points from their opener, defeating Aberdeen by two goals to one on Sunday afternoon. But despite the victory and clean sheet the Parkhead boss was critical of his side's performance against Jim Goodwin's men. The Aussie admitted his Celtic side were "'wasteful" during the league opener - both in finishing and in possession - during his post match interview last weekend.

The boss' analysis is a stark reminder of the high expectations placed on the current Scottish champions as they sink their teeth into the new season. Postecoglou insists his players must be at their best at all times under his watchful eye. But Hoops midfielder Turnbull reckons that performance will help get the best out of the men in green and white throughout the season.

The Scotland international said head of the game: “It shows what the manager wants from the boys. We know we put in a good performance but it could have been better. There were small moments where we were slack in possession, gave the ball away.

“I think we knew that during the game and it is just about fixing that. It’s not that we played bad, we just could’ve done a few things better. But we know what we need to do and we try to improve on that everyday."
