David Ornstein drops Liverpool transfer update that could leave supporters gutted - opinion

Liverpool have made three signings so far, but they have also let go of seven players so far and now a new update has emerged on another exit looming at Anfield from a reliable source.

According to Football correspondent for The Athletic David Ornstein, Nottingham Forest are working on signing Liverpool right-back Neco Williams.

Ornstein tweeted:

“Nottingham Forest working to sign 2 wing-backs – Liverpool’s Neco Williams for right + Omar Richards of Bayern Munich for left. Talks are over permanent transfers & it’s possible deals will be in place by this weekend.”

With so many players already leaving the club this summer, supporters could be gutted to see Williams leave as well especially considering the development he has had and the improvement he has shown whilst on loan with Fulham in the Championship over the second half of last season.

The 21-year-old scored two goals, delivered two assists and created two big chances as he showcased his immense attacking potential.

He also made one key pass, 2.6 tackles, 1.6 clearances and 1.3 interceptions on average per game, whilst winning the majority of his ground and aerial duels combined (53%) and being successful in completing in the majority of his dribbles (51%) over 14 appearances.

Williams has also played a huge part in Wales’ first World Cup qualification in 64 years, with seven impactful performances that will now see the youngster taking part in the prestigious international competition in Qatar at the end of this year.
