David Moyes eyes Adnan Januzaj reunion as West Ham close in on £25million Nayef Aguerd

David Moyes is reportedly keen on a reunion with Adnan Januzaj at West Ham this summer.

The 27-year-old will be a free agent at the end of June when his contract expires at Real Sociedad and the Hammers are said to be one of several suitors, including Napoli and Real Betis, interested in his services. West Ham might have the edge however thanks to Moyes, who handed Januzaj his Manchester United debut back in 2013 after succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson as manager.

Moyes kept faith in the teenager during his only season as Red Devils manager before the Belgian was rarely played when Louis van Gaal took over in 2014. Successive loans to Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland followed before a permanent move to Real Sociedad came in 2017 where he won the Copa del Rey in 2020 but failed to score double figures in a single season despite regular game time.

Now, according to Spanish outlet Diario de Sevilla as per Sport Witness, the Hammers have considered bringing him back to the Premier League where he could reunite with Moyes and bolster the club’s forward options ahead of the new campaign. The West Ham boss has been looking to sign some attacking players to release the burden on Michail Antionio’s shoulders.

Jarrod Bowen did well to support him last season though adding another forward-minded player like Januzaj would no doubt help further. The club are also still interested in bringing another former United player to the club in Jesse Lingard, though that deal doesn’t seem to have progressed much so far.
