David Martindale in furious Livingston ref blast as boss slams 'shocking' Kevin Clancy penalty calls in St Johnstone defeat
Livingston boss David Martindale was left enraged by ref Kevin Clancy after his side lost 1-0 to St Johnstone.
Saints' winner came from a 3rd minute penalty converted by Callum Hendry, but Martindale was fuming at the award itself.
The Livi manager insisted Murray Davidson should have been penalised for an offside in the build-up to the penalty award, which Martindale was also angered by.
Jack Fitzwater was penalised for a foul on Hendry, but Martindale felt the Saints striker had ran into his defender.
Martindale was left even more furious when Livi were themselves denied a spot kick for what appeared a blatant hand ball by Liam Gordon.
Speaking to BBC Sportsound after the game, Martindale couldn't hide his frustration as he claimed the decisions could not only cost his team a place in the top six, but valuable money come the end of the season.
Martindale said: "Shocking, it's shocking. St Johnstone's penalty, I don't think it's a penalty.
"If you look at the free kick, Murray Davidson is offside, the linesman is looking right across the line when he flicks it up.
"It falls to Jack Fitzwater who's trying to protect the area and Hendry runs into his elbow, but Davidson is 100% offside.
"Our penalty appeal, I do knot know. I played all levels of football and I've never seen a decision like that go against you.
"Everybody in this stadium, the St Johnstone players - it's incredible how that was not given as a penalty.
"When you look at what's at stake in these games. A point could be worth anything between half a million pounds and 2 million pounds, the difference between top six and bottom six.
"When there's a decision so blatantly wrong, it's really hard.
"Inside, I'm trying to be calm and I need to watch what
