David de Gea’s search for a new club goes on after he was released by Manchester United in the summer.

It had looked like De Gea was going to be given a new deal at Old Trafford after a relatively solid season under new manager Erik ten Hag. The Spaniard won the Golden Glove and had steadily improved his distribution over the course of the campaign.

However, Ten Hag decided that he wanted a goalkeeper who was even better with his feet so he brought in Andre Onana. The former Inter Milan man had worked with Ten Hag at Ajax and was comfortable at passing out from the back with both feet.

It has been a testing start for Onana, though, with a number of high-profile mistakes only adding fuel to the fire of the De Gea bandwagon. But De Gea is yet to find a new employer.

In his 12 years at Old Trafford, De Gea won a Premier League, an FA Cup, two League Cups and a Europa League. His status as a club legend has been cemented and very few can argue with his legacy as one of United’s best players in the past decade.

In that time, he became notorious for his outstanding reflexes and uncanny ability to get any body part in the way of a shot. His consistently high performances during the 2016-17 campaign had many punters calling him the world’s best goalkeeper.
