David de Gea furious with Trent Alexander-Arnold after Liverpool star hits him with ball

David de Gea squared up to Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold just four minutes into Manchester United's visit to Anfield on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred in the aftermath of the hosts opening goal, as United were cut open by some neat midfield play before the ball was rolled into the path of January signing Luis Diaz who made no mistake from close range. Referee Martin Atkinson was forced to intervene and break the pair up, but De Gea made his feelings clear with his fiery response. Unfortunately for the goalkeeper, things got worse just minutes later.

Mohamed Salah doubled Liverpool's advantage after Sadio Mane played it into the Egyptian's path with an outrageous no-look through ball. The Reds top scorer made no mistake and finished beyond De Gea, who conceded twice inside the opening 30 minutes of yet another incredibly difficult game for United.

A statement uploaded to Ronaldo's Instagram was incredibly moving as the former Real Madrid man informed his millions of followers of the tragic news. "It is with our deepest sadness
