David Clowes shares Derby County plan and sends plea to fans

David Clowes has urged fans to stick with Derby County as the club continues a new era following the takeover last month.

Clowes Developments took control over the club, saving it from potential liquidation after being in administration for months. Now a month in since the takeover, the lifelong Rams fan disclosed there is still "a lot of stuff to look at", though, things are slowly returning to normal.

Matters on the pitch are looking promising with the Rams securing a 1-0 win over Oxford United in their League One opener at the weekend. In addition, 11 signings have walked through the door for the new season.

But it is not all set to stop there, as Clowes revealed the plans for the future of the football club. "Obviously the main thing is stability," he told Rams TV.

"That is so key at this stage and if I can get that stability, that's half the battle. Look, integrity - I look at the relationship with the EFL, I know it's not been good over the last year or two, but the conversations we've had with the EFL have been very positive.

"With the acquisition of the club we were in constant communication with them and since then, they've been excellent. I feel like we've just turned it 180 degrees now, and they're very much on board with what we're trying to do at the club."

Clowes also left a message to fans who have been on this rollercoaster of a journey. "Stick with us, this is a new chapter and it's early days," he added. "But with long-term stability I think we'll be very successful in the future."
