Daryl Powell: We only have ourselves to blame for losing that

Daryl Powell says his Warrington side only have themselves to blame following their late 32-24 defeat at home to Salford.

It was the club’s 11th defeat of the season, sitting third from bottom in the table.

Salford scored three tries in the last 10 minutes to snatch victory at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, with a double from Jack Ormondroyd and Ryan Brierley sealing the win on 76 minutes.

A deflated Powell said his side only have themselves to blame, having led 24-8 with 25 minutes to go.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Powell said: “Obviously we’re hugely disappointed. I thought we started the game a little bit loose. I thought our start to the second half was outstanding, starting with Joe Bullock’s run right from the kick-off.

“You can’t lose that game from that position, it’s just crazy.

“All we needed from that position was everybody to do their jobs effectively, kick the ball well, defend
