Darwin Nunez stats: Liverpool man subject of Sky Sports graphic that has caused a stir

Darwin Nunez has made an… interesting start to life at Liverpool.

The striker arrived at Anfield for a club-record £85 million from Benfica after 26 goals in 28 Primeira Liga matches.

And he got off to the perfect start with a goal in the Community Shield as Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-1. He followed that up with a goal and an assist on his Premier League debut as he came off the bench to rescue a point for Liverpool against Fulham.

He was rewarded with a start in Liverpool's second Premier League game of the campaign, a home match against Crystal Palace.

However, his crazy headbutt on defender Joachim Andersen earned him a three-match ban and left him needing to restart his Liverpool career.

In recent weeks, he's managed that.

A goal away to Arsenal in the Premier League as well as another during the 7-1 Champions League victory over Rangers restored his reputation amongst Liverpool fans.

That brings us to last weekend's 18-minute cameo against Manchester City.

Nunez came on against City with the aim to help Liverpool see out their 1-0 lead. While Jurgen Klopp's side managed that, the Uruguayan was criticised for some of the decision-making in the latter stages. At one point, all he had to do was roll the ball to Salah during a three-on-one situation who would have surely made it 2-0. He inexplicably attempted to score himself.
