Danny Garcia vs Jose Benavidez Jr: Date, tickets, and everything you need to know

Danny “Swift” Garcia will be making his much-awaited super-welterweight debut when he squares up against the formidable Jose Benavidez Jr., and we’ve got everything you need to know about the contest!

Garcia (36-3, 21 KO) hasn’t competed since his defeat to Errol Spence Jr. in December 2020. Given his small frame for the weight class, many people are uncertain how the former 140-pound and 147-pound champion would do there.

Former top prospect Benavidez’s (27-1-1, 18 KO) career hasn’t gone as planned despite early expectations and high hopes. He last triumphed in a fight in 2018, when he defeated Frank Rojas, age 30.

After losing to Terence Crawford for the WBO welterweight title in October 2018 and being stopped in the 12th round, he took three years off until fighting Francisco Torres at home in Phoenix last November, where the fight ended in a draw.

Garcia does not naturally outweigh him, but he does have some considerable talent, so the match may be more entertaining than you may initially assume given the fighters’ names alone. Going to 154 is Garcia’s test; remaining or becoming relevant is Benavidez’s test.

Below is everything we know about the upcoming fight including the tickets and how to watch.

There is no new information on the fight, but we will update this area as soon as new information becomes available. Stay tuned for more information.

Tickets for the event are on sale and fight fans can purchase them online directly from Expedia. Tickets range from $88 / £73,28 to $858 / £714,46 depending on the seating arrangements.
