Daniil Medvedev showed he will be a serious force in the Grand Slams he is allowed to contest this year after meting out a first defeat of 2023 on Novak Djokovic. Djokovic arrived at the Dubai Tennis Championships as the world No. 1 and the winner of the opening major of the season at the Australian Open.
