Dane Murray targets Celtic first team return as he insists Midtjylland debut was 'the best night of my life'
Dane Murray insists he doesn't want to be a flash in the pan for Celtic as he targets a return to Ange Postecoglou's first team.
And he reckons his top-team debut against Midtjylland earlier in the season in front of a packed out Parkhead was "the best night of his life."
18-year-old Murray was in the squad that took on the Danish side in Postecoglou 's first competitive game back in July. The squad was thin and after Nir Bitton saw red in the first half, the starstruck academy star was thrown on to make his debut in front of the home crowd.
Murray went on to play all 120 minutes of the second leg but has since dropped down the pecking order, with Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers both coming in.
But he admits it's an experience he won't forget in a hurry.
He told Celtic TV: "It was crazy. The whole experience, I can remember it so vividly and so well.
"It was one of the greatest nights of my life.
"Being here, and then Bitton going off, and getting the chance to come on, it was a whirlwind of emotions.
"I can't really explain it to be honest."
Murray has been a regular for the B-team who currently sit second in the Lowland League behind champions Bonnyrigg Rose.
But he's not content to stay there as he's adamant he wants more minutes for the top team before the end of the season.
He added: "My biggest ambition before the end of the season is to try and get more minutes for the first-team.
"Hopefully that comes."
