Dalbeattie Tennis Club hosts Eileen Gibbs Trophy

Nine ladies and six gents took part in the Eileen Gibbs Trophy last Tuesday.

The rain stayed away and everyone was keen to play on what turned out to be a very pleasant afternoon weather wise.

The draw for a partner competition was divided into a group of five couples and a group of four couples, each playing each other, with the top scorers from each group going through to the final.

The draw produced evenly matched couples and keen play ensued with matches enjoyed by everyone.

The final saw Catherine Wallace and Leslie Paton take on Lois Sproat and Ian Main and after a well fought close final, Catherine and Leslie won through.

Food and refreshments followed in the clubhouse which rounded off a very happy afternoon of tennis.
