Dalbeattie Civic Gun Club hold Steve Hallam Memorial Shoot

Dalbeattie Civic Gun Club held the Steve Hallam Memorial 50 bird shoot at Little Cloak Farm, Dalbeattie on Saturday.

There were 24 competitors, including two juniors. Weather was calm, warm and sunny throughout which made for a pleasant day’s shooting.

There were two 25 bird events, the first won by Alan Gordon on 72 X 75. The second was won by club president Tom Galashan on 74 X 75.

The high gun for the day was Davy McCulloch on 144 X 150 and he received the Steve Hallum Shield. Davy was also the highest scoring veteran.

The highest scoring junior was Oliver Stuart on 110 X 150.

The pool trap again proved popular with some close scores, however the eventual winner was Finley Bell after a shoot off with Stuart Nichol.

Event one: 72pts D McCulloch, A Gordon; 70pts B Renwick, A Carson; 69pts M A Stuart; 67pts W Little, T Galashan, I Edmonds.

Event two: 74pts T Galashan; 72pts B Miller, D McCulloch; 71pts A Gordon; 70pts A Carson.
