Dak Prescott: Dallas Cowboys QB abused by his own fans leaving the field injured

Dak Prescott was forced to face the ire of some furious Dallas Cowboys fans during their Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 

This season seemed like it was going to be one that saw the Dallas Cowboys take another big step forward and put themselves in the category of being prime contenders in the NFC to challenge for Super Bowl honours once again. 

The past two seasons have seen the Cowboys under the wing of head coach Mike McCarthy, who took them from 6-10 in his first season in charge, a season that was severely impacted by the pandemic and an injury to quarterback Dak Prescott, to going 12-5 last season and the #3 seed in the NFC playoffs.

But whilst they were making progress last season, that is unraveling pretty quickly before the 2022 season has even had a chance to get going.

There was a lot of changes in the Dallas Cowboys locker room this offseason, especially as it pertained to the wide receiver group, with the team adding former Pittsburgh Steeler James Washington to compensate for losing Amari Cooper in a trade with the Cleveland Brown, however that plan went south when Washington suffered a foot injury in the preseason.

He also has to deal with the comeback of Micahel Gallup, a very capable receiver, but who is recovering from a torn ACL injury that he suffered late last season, and who was still missing when the Dallas Cowboys took the field last night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

And then things got even worse for them as Prescott suffered an injury to his thumb that will require surgery and according to reports could see him be out for 6-8 weeks.
