Dad, 40, 'repeatedly told not to worry' before being confronted by a nightmare

A dad says he was repeatedly told a lump in his mouth was 'quite common' before finding out he had a rare cancer. Adam Davies, 40, visited his GP and after discovering the lump but was told it was 'nothing to worry about' .

The dad-of-two made an appointment with his dentist in January 2023 who referred him to the NHS to have it removed, CheshireLive reports. He says he was not called for a consultation until March 2024 and was told that the lump in his mouth was nothing to worry about by a specialist consultant

Adam, from Warrington, was booked in to have it removed in May 2024, but says that he was called the day before he was due to have his operation and told his procedure would be postponed to allow a cancer patient to be treated. Adam's procedure was then rescheduled for June 2024 but he said he was again told that it needed to be cancelled.

I also don't have any history of cancer in my family and I have never smoked. The consultants actually sent the sample off again for a second opinion as they couldn't believe it."

Adam was supported by Macmillan's Cancer Nurses and says they were a 'godsend'. Following further testing with MRI and CT
