Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.5 Update: Fans Complain of Memory Leak Issue on PC

The Cyberpunk 2077 1.5 Patch and Next Gen updates were added to the game to much fanfare in mid-February 2022, but some players have been noting a Memory Leak issue on PC.

Whilst the original version of the game suffered from a huge amount of bugs and issues, it was expected that the 1.5 Patch would iron most of these out overall.

The majority of players appear to have had a positive experience with the latest version of the game, but some do still seem to be having some issues.

Here’s everything you need to know regarding the Memory Leak issues that players have been mentioning.

A player on the r/cyberpunkgame Subreddit confirmed that they were getting the issue, writing: “Is anyone else experiencing this? My average fps seems to drop after about an hour or two of playing.

“I have an RX 580 and I usually average 45-60 fps in-game but when the memory leak kicks in my fps drops to 35-40 fps and it doesn’t go back up.

“Restarting the game fixes the problem but I was wondering does anyone know a permanent fix or is this something the developers need to address and fix?”

Other players on the thread revealed that this wasn’t a one-off and that they too have been having the same issues on PC.

One Redditor noted: “I found out that if I use a browser while playing the game, I have major fps drop. I have the same issue with star citizen actually but it wasn’t here for Cyberpunk until 1.5.

“Did you play with a browser open? Or open it up during your gameplay? (I have a 5950x, 3090 and 64GB of ram for the record. Can’t understand why Brave Browser f*ck my fps so much since a couple of months on a «strong usage» game).”
