Current covid guidance and what to do if you test positive for coronavirus

While the country is no longer in lockdown, coronavirus has not completely gone away and people are still getting infected.

To help reduce the spreading of the virus, the government continues to keep official guidance in place to help deal with the virus. One of the key aspects of the guidance is the encouragement to get vaccinated to help prevent any serious illness coming from infection.

Free testing is also no longer available for free for the majority of people, however, if you are showing symptoms of the virus or have been in close contact with an infected person, you can order a test online for a price. If you test positive for the virus, there are a set number of actions you are advised to take.

Here's a breakdown of the government's public health guidance for people who test positive for Covid.

There is no longer any legal requirement forcing those who test positive with Covid to self-isolate. Despite this, public health advice is still in place, asking people to stay at home and avoid contact with other people so as to avoid spreading the virus.
