Crystal Palace: Vieira could soon have 'reason for concern' at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira could soon have reason for concern, believes journalist Dean Jones.

The south London club have a good run of fixtures next, and Jones thinks there will be a bit of worry at Selhurst Park if they go on to lose a couple of those games.

Palace would like to be doing a bit better, with Vieira’s men currently sitting just outside of the relegation zone. They have won just one of their seven Premier League fixtures while losing three, which includes the controversial 2-1 defeat against Chelsea last weekend.

Palace took the lead in the London derby versus Graham Potter’s side and could have had a one-man advantage had Thiago Silva been sent off for a handball.

The Brazilian remained on the pitch, though, and helped his team to turn things around after assisting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before former Palace loanee Conor Gallagher scored the winner with a fantastic strike from outside of the box.

Next up for the Eagles is another home game against Leeds United before they take on Leicester City, Wolves, Everton and Southampton before October ends.

Jones thinks Palace’s next five games will tell people a lot about Vieira’s team.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “I think we’re going to get a much better grasp of where this team is heading over the next five matches. They all look pretty winnable on paper, but a couple of defeats there, and I think we will be talking about a team that might have reason for concern.”

As Jones said, on paper, games against Leeds, Leicester, Wolves, Everton and Southampton all look winnable.

Of course, football is not that simple, but with Leeds, Wolves and Southampton all travelling to Selhurst Park, Palace should be aiming for around nine points
