Crystal Palace 'still keen' on signing £45k-p/w star at Selhurst Park

Eddie Nketiah will leave Arsenal this summer and still has Crystal Palace chasing his services, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

The 22-year-old has become the Gunners’ first choice striker in recent weeks, but his contract in north London expires at the end of next month, which could see him leave the Emirates Stadium.

It’s been a strange season for the Arsenal man, who’s gone from being completely out of the picture to above Alexandre Lacazette in the pecking order.

Nketiah, described as ‘phenomenal‘ by Mikel Arteta, didn’t start a Premier League game until the middle of April, playing just 38 top-flight minutes in total before Christmas, but the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and poor form of Lacazette has seen the youngster to come into the Spaniard’s thoughts.

In Nketiah’s seven starts, he’s scored four goals – taking his total tally for the club to 22 – which remarkably puts him level with Lacazette for league goals this season.

Despite his impressive end to the season, the ex-Chelsea youngster, who scored twice on his return to Stamford Bridge earlier last month, could still leave Arsenal, and Crook reckons that Crystal Palace are still in the running after missing out on his signature last summer.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think he will leave Arsenal; his mind has already been made up because he wants to go out and be a first choice striker.

“Arsenal are already looking at bringing in a new number nine, which would mean him back on the bench again.

“Crystal Palace are still keen, but I can still see West Ham being favourites to sign him.”
