Crystal Palace: Patrick Vieira 'not convinced' over multiple Eagles stars

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira is ‘just not convinced’ over several members of his first-team squad at this moment in time, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The French tactician has made a solid start to life in south London after succeeding Roy Hodgson last summer, although some players will perhaps be disappointed with their recent game time.

Vieira oversaw a significant overhaul of the playing staff at Palace during his first few months at the helm, with several experienced campaigners being replaced by young, exciting talents.

Palace new-look side got off to a slow start under the 45-year-old’s stewardship, though, claiming just one victory from their opening nine Premier League games as they took time to gel.

But then back-to-back victories over reigning champions Manchester City and high-flying Wolves put Palace on course for a comfortable campaign.

Nevertheless, certain players will be underwhelmed with their lack of opportunities of late and will perhaps be concerned that Vieira has lost faith in their ability.

Summer signing Odsonne Edouard has only played one minute out of Palace’s last four league games, while Christian Benteke has been awarded just 27 minutes of action in their previous six encounters.
