Crystal Palace 'not interested' in signing £120k-a-week star at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace are not interested in persuading Callum Hudson-Odoi to swap Chelsea for Selhurst Park, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay.

The Eagles are into their second season under Patrick Vieira, who was appointed as Roy Hodgson’s successor in July 2021, and the Frenchman has until September 1 to draft in squad reinforcements.

According to 90min, Palace are one of a number of Premier League sides who are admirers of Hudson-Odoi.

The report suggests a move could be on the cards if Wilfried Zaha, who has entered the final 12 months of his £130,000-per-week contract at Selhurst Park, links up with Chelsea.

It is understood that Hudson-Odoi has asked to leave Stamford Bridge on loan before the transfer window slams shut.

Southampton and Everton are reportedly keen on striking a deal, while Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are long-term suitors.

Newcastle United, West Ham United and Leicester City have also registered an interest in the winger.

Contrary to reports, Barclay understands that Palace are not looking to sign Hudson-Odoi before the transfer window closes.

Having spoken to his sources, the journalist is aware that Vieira is not interested in prising the 21-year-old away from Chelsea.

He believes the Eagles chief is firmly focused on landing other targets instead of heading to the negotiating table over Hudson-Odoi.

Barclay told GIVEMESPORT: “I don’t think they are interested in Hudson-Odoi, from what I’m told, so I think you can scratch that one off.”

Hudson-Odoi may have two years remaining on his £120,000-per-week Chelsea contract, but he could be a shrewd addition to Vieira’s squad if Palace were to make a move.
