Arsenal: 'World-class' £30m star now 'one to watch' at the Emirates

Arsenal and Chelsea moving for Wilfried Zaha is something to watch out for at this late stage of the transfer window, says Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

There has been a lot of talk recently about the 29-year-old leaving Crystal Palace before the market shuts, and Sheth is refusing to rule it out given his contract situation.

Palace manager Patrick Vieira has told reporters that he is not contemplating losing Zaha despite all of the speculation right now.

“I am working with him every day and there is nothing crossing my mind that something like that will happen,” the Eagles boss said (via MailOnline) when asked about his talisman potentially leaving before tomorrow’s deadline.

The above comes after alleged interest from Chelsea and Arsenal. According to 90min, the Blues have actually held talks with Palace about signing Zaha, while transfer insider Dean Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that there is at least one figure at Arsenal who wants the Ivorian at the Emirates.

In the past, Jones has also stated that Zaha could cost around £30m if Palace do sanction a sale. The winger has less than a year remaining on his £130,000-a-week contract, giving his club a serious decision to make if a bid does come in.

Sheth thinks Zaha to Arsenal or Chelsea could be one to keep an eye on ahead of tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

Speaking to GMS, the Sky Sports reporter said: “There’s a lot of talk right now about Wilfried Zaha, not just Arsenal but with Chelsea as well. I just wonder what the situation is going to be as we get to the final hour simply because Zaha’s entered the final year of his contract – one to keep an eye on.”
