Crystal Palace: £25m rising star told to stay at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise is likely to stay at Selhurst Park for at least another year, unless the club receives a mouthwatering offer, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay.

Olise has caught the eye in his maiden season at Palace, making the step up from the Championship look easy at times.

The 20-year-old was Patrick Vieira’s first signing last summer when he joined from Reading for £8m in July.

He was eased into action in the first part of the season, but he has started to make a noticeable impact since the turn of the year.

Across the course of the campaign, Olise has registered two goals and five assists in the Premier League, while he also has five goal contributions to his name in the FA Cup, which has helped his team to progress to the semi-finals of the competition. Palace are set to face Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday.

Barclay has hinted that Olise’s performances could have attracted the attention of rival clubs. However, he believes the youngster would benefit from another season at Palace, and he has tipped the Eagles to keep hold of their prized asset, who is now valued at around £25m by CIES, as long as they don’t receive a bid that they cannot afford to turn down.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about Olise, Barclay said: “His story has only really just begun at Palace, so, barring a crazy bid, you’d think he’d be better served, like most of these players, at least sticking around for another year and seeing where it goes.

“They could end up being the FA Cup winners by the end of this season, we’ll see.”
