Winning their third title in a row last season after overcoming an unexpected challenger in Arsenal meant Man City joined an exclusive club with only four other members. Huddersfield Town, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and now Manchester City are the only clubs in English football history to have won three first division titles on the trot.

Pep Guardiola’s side are already red-hot favourites to win the league again next year. Already considered one of the best English club sides we’ve seen after a remarkable treble-winning season, a fourth consecutive title could establish City with a claim to be the greatest.

The domestic campaign last season didn’t start as smoothly as previous title wins; it took Guardiola until late February to strike the right balance, sending City on a run of 12 wins on the bounce to secure the title.
