Cristiano Ronaldo two games away from ending trophy drought after inspiring Al Nassr victory
Cristiano Ronaldo is a step closer to ending his personal trophy drought after Al-Nassr beat Raja to reach the Arab Club Champions Cup semi-finals.
The five-time Ballon D'Or winner last lifted a trophy during the 2020/21 campaign with Juventus. That season the Italian giants won the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup.
Since then, Ronaldo has suffered a relative drought. His return to United in August 2021 ended just over a year later with the Reds having not enjoyed any success.

Ronaldo's departure from Old Trafford came in November meaning he was not part of the squad which won the Carabao Cup. The Portuguese icon's quest for more success took him to Saudi Arabia at the beginning of 2023.
However, his first campaign in the Middle East ended in disappointment as Al-Nassr finished runners-up to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League. But another opportunity is within the 38-yar-old's grasp after Sunday's victory.
The striker opened the scoring on 19 minutes with a fierce strike from the edge of the area. Sultan Al-Ghannam doubled the advantage 10 minutes later before Seko Fofana made it three before the interval. Raja were given a route back into the contest on the stroke of the interval when Abdullah Madu scored an own-goal but it proved nothing more than a consolation.
The transfer window is in full swing and United have got their hands on three players well in advance of the September 1 deadline, with Rasmus Hojlund joining Mason Mount and Andre Onana at Old Trafford.
