Cristiano Ronaldo tipped for 'another two or three seasons' at Man United for one reason

Cristiano Ronaldo has been backed to play for potentially another three years thanks to his meticulous attention to detail regarding his fitness.

The striker is now 37-year-old but has still managed to bag 24 goals this season, making him Manchester United ’s top scorer. He said he believes he can play into his forties.

Many agree with him, with Euro 2024 very much a target for the Portugal captain. United legend Paddy Crerand, who won the European Cup with the club in 1968, expects to see him competing in the tournament thanks to his well-documented uncompromising mentality regarding his health.

Speaking to club media, the former midfielder said: “I think the greatest thing about Cristiano - and I have known him since he was here as a kid - is that he has always looked after his fitness.

“That is the first thing he has always looked after and that's why he is playing at this age. He could play for another two or three seasons, I think, without a problem.”

Crerand praised Ronaldo for his career feats, including those of this season. He added: “He is such an inspiration as well to the people around about him.

“You just think, 'what a player he is'. He is up there with the greatest players who have played, anywhere, never mind just here at United. He has scored 24 goals this season - isn't that incredible? It's incredible that he can do that.”

Crerand made more than 300 appearances for United between 1963 and 1971, winning two league titles and the 1963 FA Cup alongside his European success.
