Cristiano Ronaldo shows off leadership skills in face of Al-Nassr frustrations

Cristiano Ronaldo has shown off his leadership qualities after Al-Nassr advanced to the semi-finals of the King Cup.

The former Manchester United player once again stole the headlines with his theatrics rather than his goalscoring feats during the 3-1 win over Abha. Ronaldo received a yellow card soon after half-time for a show of dissent which included picking up and kicking the match ball high in the air in frustration.

Al-Nassr were 2-0 up at the time, having taken the lead ten seconds into the match, but the Portugal international was not on the scoresheet. Ronaldo did not find the back of the net in the second half either, meaning the centre-forward has now gone straight matches without scoring for the first time since arriving in Saudi Arabia.

While his frustrations were evident on the pitch, Ronaldo has shown his professionalism away from it. "Good victory team," he shared in a short message across social media. "We move on to the semi-finals!"

The caption accompanies a photograph of the club captain gathering his teammates in a huddle and leading the conversation while on the King Saud University Stadium pitch. Ronaldo may not be hitting the heights with his performances right now, but his leadership skills are coming to the fore as Al-Nassr close in on silverware.

A home tie with Al-Wehda awaits in the semi-finals, but should they progress as expected against a side they beat 4-0 in the Saudi Pro League last month, when Ronaldo scored all four goals, then one of Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal will meet them in the final.
