Cristiano Ronaldo was simply unstoppable at Real Madrid.

The Portuguese superstar might have burst onto the scene at Manchester United and proved a lot of people wrong at Juventus, but there’s no denying that he produced the best football of his career at the Bernabeu.

Besides, the statistics are simply frightening with Ronaldo eventually waving goodbye to the Spanish capital in 2018 boasting a record of 450 goals in just 438 appearances. Mad.

Ronaldo scooped four of his five Ballon d’Or trophies in the famous white jersey and bagged a quartet of Champions League trophies, as well as six domestic trophies, to boot.

And although his final season with Los Blancos might not have reached the astronomical heights of his true peak in the early-to-mid 2010s, there’s only denying that he was unstoppable right until the very last game.

After all, his final outing for Real proved to be a third successful Champions League final on the bounce, infamously putting Liverpool to the sword 3-1 with some help from Loris Karius along the way.

However, that wasn’t the only European final where Ronaldo got the better of Premier League opposition that season because he actually got his farewell year underway by reuniting with, well, United.

With Real having lifted ‘Big Ears’ the previous year against Juventus in Cardiff and Jose Mourinho having guided the Red Devils to Europa League glory, the pair of continental giants were set on a collision course in the UEFA Super Cup.
