Ronaldo posts message to United supporters

Cristiano Ronaldo posted a message to supporters on popular social media platform Instagram after the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was dropped by Manchester United for their statement win over Liverpool.

United manager Erik ten Hag made four changes to his starting XI on Monday night - one that saw Anthony Elanga come in for Ronaldo as Marcus Rashford was chosen to lead the line.

Ronaldo, 37, watched from the sidelines as Jadon Sancho and Rashford both scored before his introduction on 86 minutes. Meanwhile, speculation over Ronaldo and his future at Old Trafford continues in the days leading up to the summer transfer window closing on Thursday, September 1 at 11pm.

Klopp makes United admission following defeat

Jurgen Klopp has admitted Manchester United were more aggressive and sharper than his Liverpool side after Erik ten Hag and his men secured victory over their rivals at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho did the damage before Mohamed Salah replied in a 2-1 verdict that leaves the Reds winless after three Premier League matches this season.

After finishing sixth last season and failing to clinch Champions League qualification, United appointed Ten Hag this summer and his first two games at the helm resulted in humbling defeats. However, after being second best against Brighton and Brentford, there was plenty for United to savour against Liverpool in their latest showdown.
