Cristiano Ronaldo made Chris Sutton eat his own words with his free-kick vs Norwich

Manchester United returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon.

After a dismal showing away at Everton last weekend, the Red Devils bounced back with a 3-2 win over soon-to-be relegated Norwich City at Old Trafford.

A hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo secured all three points for United, who are now above Arsenal in the Premier League table.

Ralf Rangnick’s side raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to a quickfire brace by Ronaldo, but the scores were level by the 52nd-minute.

Kieran Dowell struck for Norwich just before the break, with Teemu Pukki then equalising shortly after the restart.

It looked for all the world that the teams would share the points, until Ronaldo stepped up and notched his 60th hat-trick for club and country.

And the five-time Ballon d’Or winner recorded his latest treble in style.

The 37-year-old scored his first free-kick since returning to United last summer and it was a thing of beauty.

Tim Krul in the Norwich goal was powerless as Ronaldo thumped the ball into the back of the net using his trademark knuckleball technique.
