Cristiano Ronaldo 'looking to leave Manchester United in January' and more transfer rumours

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly looking to leave Manchester United in January after missing out on a move away from the club this summer.

The 37-year-old's future was a constant talking point throughout the transfer window, after reports emerged that Ronaldo wanted to leave United in pursuit of Champions League football. Erik ten Hag would have been glad to put the rumours to bed when September 1 came and went, as he looks to focus on integrating the five-time Ballon d'Or winner into his plans for the season.

However, according to The Sun, Ronaldo is now pushing for a move to leave the club this winter when the January transfer window opens. The report claims the United squad believe the Portugal international is looking for a way out, as it became clear that Ten Hag will not be selecting him in his starting XI anytime soon.

Elsewhere, The Express report that United were offered a total of nine players this transfer window, including Memphis Depay and Christian Pulisic.

There was a late flurry of activity in the window for the Reds as they eventually signed Antony from Ajax after an arduous series of negotiations. Ten Hag was clear that his attacking options needed improving ahead of a heavily congested fixture schedule in England, as United were linked with numerous targets.

Chelsea's Pulisic and Barcelona's Depay were both linked with the Reds towards the end of the window as a deal for Antony looked to hang in the balance. Clubs and agents looking to find a new home for 'wantaway' stars clearly saw United as a viable option, due to the volume of players believed to be offered to the club this summer.
