Cristiano Ronaldo limps off with brutal injury after Manchester United's defeat to Everton
Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo limped off the Goodison Park pitch after sustaining an injury to his shin against Everton.
Ronaldo was unwell last weekend and was forced to miss United's match against Leicester, but the forward returned to the starting line up against Everton on Saturday afternoon. Ronaldo had few chances to make his return with a goal.
United lost 1-0 to Everton and the defeat will seemingly condemn them to finish outside the top four this season. Ronaldo was unable to provide United with an equaliser in the match, albeit he did come close in stoppage time.

After the full-time whistle, United's players completed the walk of shame to leave the pitch and Ronaldo visibly looked in pain.
The 37-year-old rolled down his sock and removed his shin pad to reveal he had sustained a cut down his right leg.
An update on the injury is expected in due course.
