Cristiano Ronaldo Appeared To Spit At Anthony Elanga During Draw With Southampton
Cristiano Ronaldo failed to find the target during Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday, but he did appear to accidentally find it with his spit, as he gobbed on teammate Anthony Elanga.
United once again threw away a 1-0 lead, for the third time in eight days, as they dropped two points, against Ralph Hassenhutl's side, in the race to finish in the top four in the Premier League.
For Ronaldo it was the sixth game in-a-row without a goal, with his most recent one coming against Burnley in December, and the only time he hit anything well was when he appeared to accidentally spit at teammate Elanga.
The question would then come down to whether or not the former Juventus forward meant to spit at his own teammate but you'd like to think he wouldn't
No matter how frustrated he might be at his longest barren spell without scoring in 12 years, surely even Ronaldo wouldn't take it out on his own colleague in such a way.
Just days later they managed to throw away another one goal lead, this time to Burnley, with Jay Rodriguez's goal coming just minutes after half time.
The loss of yet another two points leaves United level on points with West Ham, in fifth, but both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have multiple games in hand over them.
