After the disaster-class against Brentford on Saturday, many furious Manchester United supporters will be wanting all 11 players dropped ahead of Monday’s Old Trafford clash with Liverpool.
Alas, this number may be far fewer, but still enough to give the side a different dynamic. Erik ten Hag is expected to alter his philosophy for the visit of Jurgen Klopp’s men, who have not got off the best start themselves.
They will be out for blood after picking up just two points from their first two games of the season. And after the capitulation in Greater London, a number of United fans are already fearful of how many their team will concede with the club already at the foot of the table.

Ten Hag may adopt a more defensive mindset going into the Liverpool bout with four players at risk of being dropped.

The Manchester Evening News understands Ten Hag is considering dropping the club captain. He gave the much-criticised defender a vote of confidence in the summer by keeping him on as skipper.
But with Raphael Varane set to return to the line-up, it seems unlikely that new signing Lisandro Martinez will be axed despite his frailties against lofty Ben Mee at the weekend.

The left-back had one of, if not his, worst performances in a United shirt against the Bees. He hardly put a foot right in the first half and his lack of pace to catch Bryan Mbeumo for the fourth goal was concerning.
United will likely play a counter-attacking game against Liverpool and Tyrell Malacia suits this system better.

Not necessarily by fault of his own, Eriksen may get the chop for this one. He clearly struggled in the deeper midfielder
