Cristiano Ronaldo and Nemanja Matic's sons recreate fathers' goal and assist vs Chelsea

Cristiano Ronaldo and Nemanja Matic 's sons have quite literally followed in their father's footsteps by adorably recreating their goal and assist against Chelsea.

The Manchester United stars combined to equalise in Thursday's 1-1 draw, with Matic's inch-perfect lobbed pass finding Ronaldo, who rifled home past helpless Blues goalkeeper Edouard Mendy after elegantly controlling the ball.

While the result wasn't one to smile about for the parents, their sons were clearly impressed with their dads' skills.

In a heartwarming video, Matic's 11-year-old son Filip is seen chipping the ball to Cristiano Jr over an adult defender. Just like his father, the youngster smashes home and wheels away to celebrate with Matic. Running arm in arm towards the camera, they both shout "siu," a homage to Ronaldo's signature celebration. Both boys have played featured for the Red Devils' academy teams alongside Wayne Rooney 's son, with Cristiano Jr making headlines earlier this month for his rendition of the iconic celebration.

While Ronaldo has one more year remaining on his United contract, Matic has already confirmed that he'll be leaving the club at the end of this season. Post-match on Thursday, the Serbian told Sky Sports : "For me, it was a pleasure and an honour to play at Old Trafford for five years.

"I said before the game, I will do my best to help my team. Three more games to play and United will stay forever in my heart, so it was an honour to be part of everything."

Ronaldo, however, isn't certain to stay, with interim manager Ralf Rangnick singing his praises but admitting that new boss Erik ten Hag will have to decide whether or nor the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is part of his plans for next season. "Not only
