Crash closes one lane of Prince of Wales bridge

An accident on the Prince of Wales bridge caused long delays on the M4 on Tuesday morning. One lane was closed eastbound. Traffic cameras showed major delays in the area just after junction 23 Magor on the eastbound approach to the bridge.

Debris on the carriageway was removed and all lanes reopened just after 8am. Traffic had returned to normal for the time of day by 8.30am.

There has also been an accident that has closed part of the M4 in Carmarthenshire this morning. The affected section is between junction 49 Pont Abraham and junction 48 Hendy, Llanelli. You can see live updates on that incident here.
