Craig McPherson to face SFA hearing after Rangers women's coach headbutts Celtic boss

Rangers women's coach Craig McPherson will face an SFA hearingamid the fallout from the ugly scenes following the SPWL1 derby showdown with Celtic.

Caitlin Hayes equalised late in the game form Celtic women after forward Brogan Hay had looked to have sealed the bragging rights in Glasgow for Malky Thomson's side during a thrilling encounter, but it's McPherson's post-match actions that have dominated the talking points. Images emerged following the full-time whistle which appeared to show Rangers assistant coach the Rangers coach headbutting Fran Alonso from behind as the Celtic boss shook hands with the players at the full-time whistle.

The Hoops boss also claims he was called "a little rat" by McPherson as he walked off the pitch at Broadwood Stadium. The SFA and Police Scotland have launched investigations into the incident, while Celtic have described the incident as "hugely concerning" for the game. Record Sport told how Alonso doesn't want to press charges but does want an apology from McPherson. The football governing body has issued a notice of complaint against McPherson and a hearing will now be held on April 13.
